Regular Orienteering Map Programme

Controls are now out in Uath Lochan and Alvie; packs are available via the usual means.
Uath Lochan is a superb planted forest with technical detail, contours that range from precipitous to vague, stunning views and excellent wildlife. Courses planned by Mike Atherton promise hours of entertainment for all.
Alvie was of course used for Spey 2007, and I’ll admit I found it much nicer than I remembered it from that occasion. If you’re intending going during July, please contact the National Centre so I can check with Alvie Estate because they might be stalking on a few days in July. As with Littlemill, you’ve got the added fun of pin-punches at the controls.
Each map pack comprises a pre-printed map (on Pretex), control descriptions (pictorial) and an information sheet. The information sheet includes a particular training activity that we recommend.
Packs are available from Glenmore Lodge reception or we can post one out to you, simply contact the National O Centre.
Packs are £3 each. Please add 70p towards postage for one pack, £1.20 for 2-5 packs, £1.70 for 5-10 packs.
You can also join our new subscription scheme - just send a cheque for £37 (inc. postage) and we’ll send you maps for the next 10 months.
If you’d like to orienteer for free on these lovely areas, that can be your reward for collecting controls or planning and putting them out. Please contact the National O Centre if you’d like to take up this offer.
